Mixtura metallica 304L est mixtura metallica maxime versatilis et latissime adhibita in familia chalybis inoxidabilis. Apta ad amplam varietatem applicationum domesticarum et commercialium, mixtura metallica 304L exhibet excellentem resistentiam corrosionis et habet facilitatem fabricationis magnam, formabilitatem eximiam. Chalybes inoxidabiles austenitici etiam habentur inter chalybes valde mixtos maxime sudabiles et per omnes processus fusionis et sudationis resistentiae sudari possunt.

Resistentia adversus acida organica moderate aggressiva ex 9 ad 11% niccoli, quae mixturae metallorum 304 continent, oritur.
Interdum, mixtura 304L corrosionis ratem inferiorem quam mixtura 304, quae altiore carbonio continet, ostendere potest; aliter, 304, 304L, et 304H in plerisque ambitus corrosivis uniformiter fungi existimari possunt.

Resistentia Caloris:
Bona resistentia oxidationis in usu intermittente usque ad 1600°F et in usu continuo usque ad 1690°F.
Usus continuus 304 in ambitu 800-1580°F non commendatur si resistentia corrosionis aquosae subsequens magni momenti est.
Gradus 304L praecipitationibus carburi magis resistit et in supradictam temperaturam calefieri potest.

Excellentes proprietates sudurae; recoctio post suduram non requiritur cum tenues sectiones sudurantur. Duae considerationes magni momenti in producendis commissuris sudurae in chalybe austenitico inoxidabili sunt:

Processus – Formatio Calida:
Ad fabricandum, uniformitatem calefac ad 2100 / 2300°F
Ne infra 1700°F cudas.
Ars fabricatoria aere refrigerari potest sine periculo fissurarum.
Processus – Formatio Frigida:
Structura eius austenitica permittit ut profunde trahatur sine intermedia recoctione, quae facit ut hic gradus chalybis inoxidabilis sit electus in fabricatione lavacrorum, vasorum cavorum et sartaginum.
Hae qualitates celeriter durescunt. Ad levandas tensiones in formatione vel filatura severa productas, partes quam primum post formationem plene recoquendae sunt vel recoquendae ad levandam tensionem.
Machinabilitas:
Usus frangentium fragmentorum commendatur, cum fragmenta fibrosa esse possint. Opus chalybis inoxidabilis celeriter durescit, graves positivi progressus, instrumenta acuta, et rigida dispositio adhibenda sunt. Sectio infra stratum durescit ex transitibus prioribus ortum.
